For homeowners 60 and older living in their own home in the city. The page lists heating and cooling repairs, basic plumbing and electrical work, and basic modifications including ramps, handrails and grab bars. Bring proof of home ownership or a paid property tax receipt. For contracted work, clients may bear some cost.

A licensed occupational therapist starts with a phone consultation, sometimes followed by a home assessment. Services include safety assessments, equipment recommendations, and minor modifications such as grab bars, widened doorways and ramps. Eligibility: St. Louis City or County resident, based on annual household income.

Free home repairs. Its page says it is currently taking new applications from US military Veterans age 60 or older who own their home in St. Louis City or County, are current on mortgage and property taxes, and meet HUD low-income guidelines.

Part B covers medically necessary equipment her doctor orders for use at home. The list includes commode chairs, hospital beds, walkers and wheelchairs. After the Part B deductible, she pays 20% of the Medicare-approved amount if the supplier accepts assignment.
